With our 2025 GOTY Awards done and dusted, it's time to start mapping out our plans for new 2026 games on the horizon. It may not look like a packed year at a glance, but you know how it goes. At some point I'll blink and find myself in December with another long list of new games to catch up on.

Best of the best

2026 games: Upcoming games
Best PC games: All-time favorites
Free PC games: Freebie fest
Best FPS games: Finest gunplay
Best RPGs: Grand adventures
Best co-op games: Better together

Since it's still rather early our 2026 new games calendar doesn't have a ton of dates set in stone yet, but what immediately jumps out at me is the year's return trip to not one but two cities from an era of gaming that still has a chokehold on me. Get in loser, we're going to Raccoon City… and then Vice City. Hold your applause, I'll be here all of 2026.

If you need help with planning other aspects of your gaming schedule, we've got you covered with a more in-depth look at February 2026 game releases and events, plus our handy Steam Sale calendar for reference. Otherwise, it's on to the new games of 2026 list we go.

The next Nioh was announced last year during Sony's State of Play, and it's the first of the series with a simultaneous console and PC release. Team Ninja's third Soulslike set in feudal Japan is another with a demo you can try right now, and Shaun says it runs surprisingly well.

Resident Evil Requiem | February 27

Resident Evil Requiem | February 27
Capcom takes us back to Raccoon City soon with Resident Evil Requiem and new lead Grace Ashcroft, but she won't face have to face all the horrors alone. Leon 'hot uncle' Kennedy will be back in town for the adventure, which means I will too.

Andrea Shearon
Evergreen Writer

Andrea has been covering games for nearly a decade, picking up bylines at IGN, USA Today, Fanbyte, and Destructoid before joining the PC Gamer team in 2025. She's got a soft spot for older RPGs and is willing to try just about anything with a lovey-dovey "I can fix them" romance element. Her weekly to-do always includes a bit of MMO time, endlessly achievement hunting and raiding in Final Fantasy 14. Outside of those staples, she's often got a few survival-crafting games on rotation and loves a good scare in co-op horror games.
